Málaga has officially kicked off the countdown to the most spectacular event of the season: the Christmas light switch-on! As is tradition, the dazzling sound and light show on Calle Larios will be the grand opening for the city's Christmas festivities, and we can confirm the exact dates and times you need to be there.
This year, the enchanting 'Heavenly Angels' ('Ángeles Celestiales') display is set to return. Featuring magnificent angel figures soaring above the street, this show is genuinely one of the most celebrated light displays in Europe, and it’s unmissable!

The Grand Switch-On will light up the city at 6:30 pm on the 28th. After the opening night, you can catch the amazing, synchronised sound-and-light show three times every evening:

The lights generally stay on until midnight from Sunday to Wednesday, and they are extended until 2:00 am on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, giving you plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere. Last year, over 2.7 million LED lights adorned the streets, and we expect a similar figure this season!
The Costa del Sol capital isn't stopping there! The La Concepción botanical-historical garden will once again host a fantastic immersive Christmas show. This year's theme is 'Alice Christmas', which also opens on 28 November. Expect a longer, more detailed route, costumed characters to meet, and even free candy floss for the little ones! It’s guaranteed to be a truly magical start to Christmas in Málaga.
